If you’re like many Americans, your morning routine wouldn’t be complete without a nice cup of coffee, and maybe a few more throughout the day. Aside from the boost it gives them, many people enjoy coffee simply for its taste. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to reduce coffee stains on your teeth just by changing the way you drink it, and what you do after you drink it. Check out these tips for coffee drinkers teeth in this week’s blog!

How Coffee Drinkers can Reduce Stains on their Teeth

Cool It Down

The hotter your coffee, the easier it will stain your teeth. Let your coffee cool down a little bit before you drink it. This has the additional benefit of preventing you from burning your tongue.

Swish Water

After you finish your cup of joe, swish some cold water around in your mouth to loosen up and remove any coffee residue on your teeth. It won’t get rid of all of it, but it will help.

Brush After You Drink

This is a great way to remove coffee from your teeth before it stains. However, it’s not always realistic to expect you could brush your teeth after every cup. Do it if you can, and if you can’t, swish cold water.

Carrots and Celery

Another way to reduce coffee stains on your teeth is to eat carrots and celery after you’ve finished your cup. These vegetables have a lot of water in them which helps get rid of coffee residue. Plus, they’re a healthy snack!

Flossing

Flossing breaks up plaque, which contributes to stains. Floss once a day to remove particles that get stuck in between teeth.
