Stopping Toothache Pain

When you have a toothache, it can ruin your entire day.

When you have a toothache, it can ruin your entire day. It’ll drain your concentration and keep you from being able to focus on anything, even enjoying your favorite foods. That’s why it’s so important to stop toothache pain as soon as it starts.

Causes of Tooth Pain

When your teeth hurt, there are two main types of pain. Unfortunately, both are unpleasant, but in different ways. Sharp pains might be caused by tooth decay, gum infections, grinding your jaws while you sleep, or something you ate or drank. Another potential cause could be a filling for a cavity that has failed or a crown broke off when it wasn’t supposed to. So what are some causes of dull tooth pain?

As miserable as sharp tooth pains are, when you have a dull pain in your teeth, it’s a sign that things are much worse. This means that something has reached the root of your tooth, and the nerves are inflamed. If you’re trying to eat dinner, this kind of pain can make it difficult to chew, swallow, or even ask for the salt. You need to see your dentist as soon as possible.

Toothache Remedies

Use Essential Oils: Whether you choose to use clove oil or peppermint oil, essential oils can be a quick source of relief. The eugenol in clove helps stop the pain, while the menthol in peppermint can kill germs and other bacteria causing the toothache. If you’re worried about having bad breath, the peppermint can help with that too.

Rinse with Saltwater: Saltwater is also effective and stopping a toothache. After all, you can use it to wash away any bacteria trapped in your mouth, especially if you don’t like using mouthwash, or honey and lemon. One way to keep the pain away is to rinse after you eat, when you first wake up in the morning, and again before you go to bed at night.
