You may have heard that milk keeps your bones nice and strong. Well, it’s true and your teeth are no exception. Consuming foods that are rich in calcium are extremely beneficial in aiding with the protection of your tooth enamel. Milk, cheese, yogurt, and other foods that contain dairy are a great source of calcium. If calorie intake is a concern of yours or you do not consume dairy, opt for other foods with sources of calcium such as soybeans, dark leafy greens such as kale and okra, and canned salmon.


Oral Health- Be Mindful of Your Brushing


Brushing your teeth too aggressively or fast can contribute to weakened tooth enamel and damaged gums. Without healthy gums, it is nearly impossible to have healthy teeth. Damaged gums can expose your teeth to many diseases and bacteria that can contribute to the demise of healthy teeth. When brushing your teeth, be mindful of the amount of pressure you apply to your teeth and gums. You should brush for at least 2 minutes while using gentle strokes up and down in a circular motion. 


Don’t Leave Out The Fluoride 


Strong enamel means great protection of your actual teeth. Fluoride is incredibly helpful in strengthening your enamel and repairing early stages of the decaying of a tooth. Fluoride also aids in making your teeth resistant to the acidic properties in foods and oral bacteria. Be sure to use toothpaste with fluoride as it can also aid in preventing future cavities.
